SFC New England is a premier soccer club formed in 2000. Starting with only one team, today it is a highly regarded club within New England and has grown to over 22 teams — filled with talented athletes from Andover, Arlington, Belmont, Charlestown, Everett, Lexington, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Peabody, Revere, Stoneham, Waltham, Watertown, Wilmington, Winchester, Woburn and other area towns.
The Coaching staff is unparalleled and diverse, with many holding licenses at the highest levels (USSF, NSCAA, Advanced National & National), others having had experience playing soccer as semi-pros and professionals, and some concurrently holding coaching positions at the High School and Collegiate level. If you, or your child, are a motivated player looking to be part of an outstanding premier soccer club like SFC New England – we invite you to try out for the upcoming season.
SFC Methodology
Our curriculum emphasizes (1) technical proficiency with the ball, (2) overall athleticism to ensure our players are strong, agile and free from injury, (3) tactical astuteness to improve players “Soccer IQ” and reading of the game, and (4) intrinsic motivation so our players find a love and enjoyment of soccer that translates into success athletically, socially, and academically.
Dual-Rostering Philosophy
Playing on both a town travel team and for SFC is strongly encouraged. We believe it provides a different and equally important soccer experience. SFC coaches are not obligated to give all players playing time in premier matches. While SFC’s main objective is player development, winning matches is also important for the club and individual teams. Playing on a town travel team ensures that all players get adequate exposure to game situations and enough play time to develop. A player’s development is also fostered within a town program where he or she can experiment with more time and space relative to premier matches.
